First, the knee is recovering well. I started physical therapy last week to get some strength back. It was interesting going back to therapy, all the therapists welcomed me back. I told them I just love the place so much I had to visit--therapy doesn't seem so bad when everyone is laid back.
Second, my hubby and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary this past weekend. He surprised me with a gift I would have never even thought of him getting me. He also made us a wonderful supper and we stayed in and watched a movie, it was a very nice evening.
Third, well it could be over for the SCCheeseHead in the VFL. Currently I sitting seventh of fourteen, just one seat out of the clinched playoff spots. Not to mention, I am currently losing this week's game. So, one never knows but I may be able to make it into the first round. One can only hope.
Fourth, the Packers have been keeping the games interesting. Last week they forgot to show up in Philly and the score surely reflected that. The worst thing about that game was that the ViQueens had lost earlier in the day and the Pack could have went out in front by their lonesome in the Central Division, but it was not to happen. But this last week was my kind of football week!!! Chicago lost to Jacksonville, Minnesota lost to Seattle (:D), and the Packers won over Detroit, my kind of Central Division day. This means that now the Packers are more than a game ahead of the ViQueens with three weeks left in the season. So, just once each of the next three Sundays say "Lets go Packers!!" with feeling.
Fifth, I best not ;)
Well that's it from this bunny hole, keep on keepin it. Peace
Kitty Cats and Christmas Lights
Its that time of year again, and as usual we started decorating our inner sanctum over the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. However, we quickly learned that this was not going to be a regular decorating party. We have the Christmas Town Village on the mantle, that is safe--kitty proof. Then we (I supervised) put up our tree and some lights. It was once the lights were on the tree that we realized that this was going to be another interesting episode with the kitties. The looked so sweet an innocent underneath the tree, just like little presents. Then we heard a crunch, and another crunch and noticed a lower branch was moving. The little rodent was eating the Christmas lights, off the string. I have no idea how many they have eaten, yes his sister has been in on it too, all I know is that the lower string of lights no longer works, and as for those branches, will never be the same. As for the decorating, yeah, not so much. We are not sure what would be safe from the torment of the kittens. What to do, what to do?
Other than that, things have been going pretty well. My knee is progressing well, I visit the doctor on Tuesday, hopefully I will get down to one crutch and then off, they are so annoying. Work is getting crazy, with the semester ending and changes that are ongoing in the structuring. It is getting frustrating, only knowing bits and pieces and not really liking any of the bits or the pieces. I am going to try to deal with it, and I will leave it at that, one of these days I might just have to vent. All I can say is that for now I have crutches and I will not hesitate to use them.
Christmas shopping is almost done, thank goodness for catalogs and the Internet. Last year I shipped most things directly, this year I will not be able to do that because of getting gifts from several places for people. I plan on sending all of them to two central places, that way they can have a long distance family Christmas with us. I just hope that everyone likes the items that they will be receiving, one never knows especially when you do not see the person's reaction when they open the gift because of not being there. Speaking of Christmas shopping, I best get hopping so I can finish some up tonight maybe.
From this bunny hole, keep on keepin' it--Peace.

Third Times a Charm
Let us all hope that that rings true.
Had the third procedure on my right knee on Wednesday, which means the third visit to the surgery center. They remembered me from my previous visits, and as usual were all very sweet and helpful to us. We got there about 11 a.m. and were home by 4 p.m. so it wasn't too bad, but then again I was drugged for the most part
I had the excess scar tissue removed from my knee, and the doctors seemed surprised by the amount of it they took out. It was causing more problems and could have really caused major problems in the future, so it is a very good thing that it was removed. I am not on crutches for three weeks, but I can put weight on it and move it around some, I don't have full range of motion but it is wrapped in an ace bandage. I have three little holes around my knee cap, one stitch per hole. These should be removed on Tuesday when I go to the doctor, hopefully after that he will let me drive, other wise I am not sure when I will be able to go back to work. I have had no physical therapy prescribed yet, but that may be coming on Tuesday as well. No matter what it is not as bad as the ACL repair or the manipulation after that.
Not much else has been going on here.
My animals have been taking good care of me. The terror cat has turned to little cuddle cat
. In fact he is sleeping on me right now. All five of them can be on the futon with me with out any incidents, no hissing or anything. It is amazing how animals can sense that there is something wrong. They even seem to miss my knee as they walk on me. They sure are cute.
Other than that there is football. The Packers beat the Vikings
last week in a very good game, 34-31. After the game we called our best friend and rubbed it in, he is a Queen fan so we had to do it.
The SCCheeseHead won also, so that is three in a row and ranked fifth in the league. This week will be another difficult one for the SCCH, the team being played is ranked tenth but has some very strong players. I have made some trades and moved some players around so I am hoping that this will be for the better. I will keep everyone posted. As for the Packers we are at Houston this week for a Sunday Night game, looking forward to it, hope for another really good game and a tally in the win column.
Well that is about it from this bunny hole, hope all is well out there. Go read a book and turn those library books in on time. :) Keep on keepin' it, peace

What's up Doc?
Life has been very crazy since my vacation.
The Friday I got home I had a doctor's appointment with my Orthopedic Surgeon. I informed him of the pain and stiffness that seems to be more often than not. He told me that it was scar tissue and that I could have it removed orthoscopically if I wanted to. I needed to think about this, I went and talked to my physical therapist, talked to my nurse, discussed it with my husband, and made a decision. So on Wednesday, November 17th say a little prayer for me. This is the third procedure on my right knee is just under a year, so it is old and new again. At least it will not be near as intense as the initial surgery. It was Christmas last year, this year it is Thanksgiving, ya just gotta love the holidays.
Other than this I have been doing a bit of crafting. I finally finished the "Packers Paws" page for our family album, game day is a big deal at our house. I have also laid out a family page, another wedding page, and two cards. Yep, yep I am a crafting machine. I can say that I truly love my Sizzix Die Cut system and die cuts. I have also really organized my space to allow for maximum scrapping capacity, between shelving and tool boxes life is good.
The SC CheeseHeads have won the last couple of weeks, which I like. I am currently in 7th place out of the 14 teams in the VFL. I even managed to beat the number one team last week, only by about 20 points but it was a win. The Green Bay Packers had a bye week last week, but they had won the three games going into the bye, good momentum. This week we (as if I am part of the team or something) play the Minnesota Vikings, or as we call them the Queens. The game is at Lambeau, however it is the Milwaukee season ticket holders game this week so no family in the stands. I really need a program from this game to see if the picture of my shoes made it in on the fan page. I guess I will have to keep my eyes open on eBay.
A new member of the family was born this last week, see previous post. A third little boy to my sister-in-law and her husband--named Ryan Dillon. I was hoping it would be a little girl, but a little boy will do just fine. Have not seen any pictures of him yet but my mother-in-law told me he was really cute, similar to his oldest brother as a baby. She may be biased, but I am going to believe her on this one.
I have made some updates to my web page, visit it if you wish.

Vacation? Part 2
As promised the bad side of my vacation.
All in all the trip was not that bad, there were a few situations that could have been better but they were out of my control. The one that set the vacation on fire was my trip back home to South Cakalaki. I was flying out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a one gate airport--this not the problem. The problem was that my flight was at 530 in the morning and everyone said that if I got there by 5 I would be okay. I wanted to be there by 445 but since I was not driving I was out voted. To make a long story short, I showed up at the airport a few minutes after 5 and the check in counter was closed. No sign stating that the flights closed 30 minutes before the flight just a stupid little bell. Well I rang that little bell and rang it for 20 minutes. No one came to help, not that I can blame them I was getting very livid, I just wanted to go home. I called my mom and yelled, called my sister and yelled (she is the one who brought me to the airport and decided that 5 would be a fine time), and I called the husband crying. Not a good morning.
I got to watch my own flight take off, no way to help myself I plugged in my cell phone and waited for the staff to show back up at the ticket window. Turns out that they are the ones who signal the plane out to the run-way and everything--like I said a very tiny airport. The people show back up to the counter, I have tried to regain my composure and went to the desk to see what I could do. I informed him of the situation--that I got to the airport about 5 and no one would help me, he said that I got there at 508 because he saw me as he opened security. Man I wanted to choke him. I mean the least he could have done was come over and tell me the situation or something, but no. Using my better judgment I let his comment pass, I really just wanted to get him. The next flight out was leaving after my flight out of Minneapolis was suppose to be leaving--there goes making that connection and the next in Atlanta to make my happy way home. Mister man informs me that the next flight is full, but he can put me on stand-by and if that flight doesn't work I can get on the noon flight, which is when I was suppose to be back in SC.
So, I get put on stand-by and my baggage gets checked. I am the only person in the airport and I had pitched a fit earlier--any ideas on how this turned out? I can say it sure is interesting watching your own suitcase get completely and totally ransacked--everything was checked. My stuffed animal got swabbed for explosives and x-rayed. They used at least twenty of those swab things on the inside of my suitcase--the suitcase can be used as a carry on its that small. It was truly a wonderful experience to see my tax dollars at work. I understand that they needed to screen the stuff, but honestly I only missed my plane, I am sure that it happens. I made it through that. But it did make me worry about the actual security section of the airport. The only good thing is that I did not have my knee brace so I would not have to go through that, but I kept thinking, I will be going into that little room for the full cavity search. Thank goodness that did not happen, I made it through with out incident.
Back to the plane ride. I managed to make it on the next flight out, they had flight numbers for me to check on when I got to Minneapolis, but none of them were guaranteed because I was changing from NorthWest to Delta and they couldn't book me on those flights. So, I knew I was on a plane to MN, but I did not know if I would be staying there long or not. I got to the airport in Minneapolis, found an electric cart to take me to the Delta terminal and hopefully my next gate, and I got there with plenty of time. I went to the ticket counter and checked in about seat availability, and there were some--I did a little cheer--then I found out she had me seats all the way to Columbia. I could have hugged that woman, no coffee in me, one missed flight and it wasn't even 8 am, I really needed something positive. I did tell the woman that she was beautiful and to praise the Lord I was going home. I then went and got some coffee.
Coffee is a term I will lose loosely. That was the nastiest coffee I have had in ages, this after a week of decaf. I used at least a dozen sugar packets and six creamers in a 12 oz coffee and it was still bad, to bad I didn't have enough time to walk the mile back to Starbucks for some real good coffee.
I did almost miss my plane in Atlanta, but I didn't, made it to the gate just as they started boarding. I have never been so happy to get on a plane in all my life. I made it back only two hours later than originally planned, but I made it safe and sound--stressed, but safe.
I met a soldier on the plane, she and her husband both serve. She found out the week earlier that she is pregnant and due in May, the next day her husband received orders to go to Bosnia. She told me that Bosnia is worse then Iraq and that she would rather he was going to Iraq. She is due for medical release but her husband will be gone for the next year, he will miss their baby being born. I did not get her name but I told her we would shout one out for her and her family,
pray for them and all the troops, and when you see a Vet say thank you--they deserve it.
Well that is the end of my vacation story--I had to cool down before I could share all of it.
Hurray, I am a new Aunt!!! My third nephew was born today--7+ pounds. More details as I get them.
Back to my bunny hole, keep on keepin' it real. ;)

Vacation? Part 1
Well I went on my annual vacation up north to my mom and dad's. After this one though, I am not sure if a vacation is what one could call it. There were some high points of the trip, but some really good lows as well. I will highlight the high points first.
Wednesday--day one--I got kisses from my niece. One of the bestest of all the highlights. We played a bunch and had a good time. For those of you who know this is a big huge and glorious thing for that sweet adorable cute little thing.
Thursday I spent the day with one of my best friends, went out for breakfast and did a little shopping. I found new material for the manimals game day bandannas. Not much else for that day, but I did get my niece of the bus, and she was happy to see me. Joy and bliss.
Friday I got my hair cut, by above mentioned friend, and it looks pretty good. That night my parents, sister, her friend, and my dad's mom went out for fish. It was nice.
Saturday my in-laws came up to my parents to see me. It was very nice to see them. We had a nice visit, short but nice. That night I went out for supper with friends, only one I graduated high school with, and her husband. I was in their wedding and they are still together--other then my marriage the only wedding I was in that is still together, thanks guys. We had a really good time.
Sunday was awesome. Lambeau Field in October. It was the afternoon game so we didn't have to get up too insanely early to drive half way across the state of Wisconsin. I found out earlier in the trip that my game companion would be my mom's mom, my little 85 year-old grandma. She had never been to Green Bay for a game and she was going with me--so very very cool. We picked her up on the way. I had hoped to nap on the way there, but I was way to excited--I love the Green Bay Packers (even have a song called "We Love Bret Farve"). While the folks were preparing our tailgating feast I made my way to the Pro Shop for some Green and Gold stuff. On the way there a photographer wanted to take a picture of the large group waiting to cross the street with the nice little police man that was helping us. That was cool. Well the police man saw my game day shoes (Green and Gold high-top Converse All-Star Chuck Taylors with Green Bay Packer shoe laces), so he had the photographer take a picture of my shoes. I have no idea what the photos were for but now who ever sits in those seats has to get a game day program to see if my shoes are in there. It was cool. I got me a cheese head at the Pro Shop as well as some other items. I wanted to get the dogs jerseys but since they had no number 88 for our little one I could not get either of them one, maybe next time. Tail gating was great, had a good time, Packer fans are some of the best in the world. Then we went to the game. Man that game was electrifying--much better then last years, but we won't go there. By half-time we were kicking butts and taking names. By the end of the game I could hardly contain myself. Grandma and I had a great time and the Packers beat the Cowboys 41-20, HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And there are the highlights of my trip. After the game the only highlight was actually getting home, but that is an entirely different blog.
Well keep on keepin' it real. From this bunny hole, Peace out.

Ups and Downs
Since my last post life has had some ups and downs. Up: finished another wedding album page. Down: Washing machine broke down. Up: Washing machine was fixable. Down: Had to go to work on Friday. Up: The entire class was present and it went well. Down: Packers got their tails handed to them. Up: SC CheeseHead won.
Ups and downs, downs and ups.
The second album page looks pretty good. It is actually the last page of the album, but it is another page done.
The orientation class went pretty well, I gave out candy so I scored some points there. I learned that I talk really fast when presenting, something to work on. However I did have a lot of information to cover and only 50 minutes to do it, I did it. I hope that people learned some stuff, fingers are crossed.
No comment on the Packers, I am too disgusted to even, just never mind.
The SC CheeseHead won, hurray, I was down by 100 before kick off Monday night so at least that went my way. Good to redeem myself especially after the whoopin' I took last week from Mr. B, next time.
Well that is all from this little bunny hole for now. Keep on keepin' it real! Peace :P

That sums up the entire event of NFL football for me this weekend. Not only did the SCCheeseHead lose big, but the Packers lost a great game in a very bad way. Brett got a concussion, back up quarter back got a broken rib, and let's see, that about covers it. Brett did throw one touchdown pass, he doesn't remember throwing it but Javon did catch it, good boy Javon. I guess Brett was really out of it, even though he really wanted back in the game. He stood on the sidelines or sat on the bench the entire 4th quarter with his helmet on, bless him, he really wanted to play. I guess the Giants QB talked to him after the game and commented something like, I talked to Brett after the game, he doesn't even remember throwing the touchdown, and even for Brett he was saying some strange stuff. That is great, not medically speaking, but great non the less. I just hope that they can pull it together by the time I get to the Tundra.
Other than that not much has been going on. Work is work, things seem to be going good for the time being, we have a lot of work to do before the Board shows up in a week or so, but I am going to have faith. I do have to go in on Friday, my usual day off, to do BI (Bibliographic Instruction) to the Orientation class. I have only ever really done this once, but I am much better prepared this time around. I have an entire Power Point presentation ready and handouts, I am at least going to look really good :P Send up some words of encouragement for me right about 11 am Friday, I will need them, and keep your fingers crossed for me that all the technology stuff works for me.
That's it from this bunny hole, keep on keepin' it real. Peace

I did it
Finally, after almost six years I have finally made the first page of my Wedding Scrapbook. I guess there are several reasons as to why this has taken so long. One, I did not have everything that I would need--this is a new realization because before the big day my mom-in-law bought me all sorts of materials. Two, I did not have the confidence in my abilities. I am a creative person but I tend to second guess my abilities from time-to-time. Three, I just never sat down and made the time to do it. Well, now I have. I started working on the page Friday afternoon. The idea for it hit me while I was sorting through all of my paper. I saw a sheet that just hit the idea on me like a brick. I got to work with all my little tools, picked out all the papers, shapes, and the picture. And now I have it finished, unfortunately the album that was purchased for the project will not work, but that is okay because there is another type that I like better, and the old album can be used for another project, not sure what but I will come up with something. Will post a picture as soon as I figure out how to do that.
Well, deep subject, keep on keepin' it real. Peace

Forever and a day
Yes that is how long it has been since I posted last, my apologies.
Not much has happened over the last week or so. I lost one and won one in fantasy football, the Packers lost two games, and there has been weather from at least two hurricanes. Nope not much here. We have received no less then three frantic phone calls from family members wondering if we were safe. They really shouldn't watch the weather channel, things get hyped a bit a think for national--they were bad where they hit, but the "Cone of Probability" can be a little scary.
Back to football. The Packers did lose, but at least they were relatively good games so that helps. As for my SCCheeseHeads we are doing much better. I was down to 7 of 14 but with some help, and you know who you are, I am back up to third place. Hurray! So, for football there is an up side as well as a down side, sure do wish it was only an up side but you can't win all the time.
The library has been going, it has its ups and downs too, good thing is is on the up side more often because I'm not sure if I would have any hair left. I mean really, I have one good nerve but even that end gets frayed from time to time. For those of you who help twist that nerve back to good, thank you, for those of you who fray it, please STOP!!!! :P

Yep, Thank God its Thursday!!
First, sorry it has been awhile, I have been tired and busy--as usual.
Second, today was not your average day. I got up reluctantly and got ready for work. Out the door about the same time as usual, well if I don't need to get gas. On my way to work all was going well, was a little behind schedule but no big deal I was not going to be late. I was just about to St. Matthews--I had just crossed the river, and a saw a State Trooper, checked my speed--cruise set at 60 mph no problem. Rollers came on, I slowed down, the squad car did a U-Turn on the highway, since no one else was in my lane I pulled over. I had no idea, with it drizzling I couldn't even believe I was getting pulled. Mister Police man approaches my car, staying behind my window making me turn to look at him. He asks for all the usual so I handed him everything and asked what the problem was, it was very television movie like. He said, "I clocked you going 76 in a 55," my jaw must have hit the steering wheel and my eyes bugged out of my head. I informed him that I set my cruise at 60 and I had checked my speed when I saw him. He then asked me why I went 60 in a 55 and I told him, "So the tree trucks don't run me off the road." He gave me a look like, uh that seems logical. He then went to his car, it didn't take long and he was back at my window. He told me that he had not cleared his camera from the last stop and that he was going to give me the benefit of the doubt and just issue me a warning. There was more, like where was I going and what time I had to be there, but it all worked out well, at least better then it could have. Want to wake up quick in the morning have rollers in your rear view mirror at 730 am. Well, needles to say the hubby is not all to happy with me, not sure if this will affect our safe drivers thing, but he is happy that it was not a ticket. He cannot believe that I told the cop I was speeding and did not get a ticket for that--but I really did not want to lie to him, plus it just came out. The one thing I forgot, he spelled my name wrong on the warning, so I guess I did not get a warning after all. Silly little "H!"
Other then that not much else has been going on. Monday Night Football was a great game and the Packers did win, hurray, and I even won my Fantasy Football game and my rank in the VFL is 5th of 14-
-Hurray. My team needs some serious help, so if anyone has some suggestions please let me know, I really need some receivers that receive and some another running back that actually runs. Ah yes, football one of the reasons to love fall so very much.
Well, there, now everyone is caught up. Sorry no real rants today, other than the "h" getting put on my name, but that is actually an old rant so we will save that one for maybe a rainier day then today. Hurricanes need to go away, thank you very much. Well I am back to my bunny hole, make it a good one.
Keep it real.

FOOTBALL
Finally football season has kicked off and into high gear. I am currently watching the Monday Night Football game Green Bay Packers vs. Carolina Panthers (Go Pack!), I listen to Field Pass on the Internet when the commentators start talking stupid. So yesterday was Fantasy Football day and boy what a day--I love the NFL Sunday Ticket. Yeah Packers just pulled ahead. Back to yesterday. I watched and listened to so many football games my head was spinning. I kept track of my fantasy team the SC CheeseHead by watching the Stat Tracker, that is a cool little feature. Then I flipped the Sunday Ticket between two or three games at 1 and again at 4, plus I listened to another game online, mute teleprompts on the TV. Football, is that a safe addiction?
Not much else to report except that the Sewer Rat Cat likes to take showers, go figure.
Oh, my Secret Pal likes me now, or at least feels very obligated to get me stuff. I first got a card and candy--Twizzler Bites and Good & Plenties, mmmmmmm. Then today I got a card and a Monkey that actually screeches. Very interesting--Hey! Get that monkey off my back!--and loud. Maybe it is a message that the library is really full of wild animals. Remind me to post the quote on my office door.
Second Half. :)

Meetings and scavenger hunts
Well my week of meetings is finally done, I had at least one meeting everyday this week. All of those meetings can make it difficult to get done all the stuff that needs to get done--and there is a lot to be done, TRUST ME. I did manage to create some catalog records from items I could not find in FirstSearch, pretty cool, I like it when I can cross things off my list. Unfortunately due to Frances moving north FirstSearch was having some major slow downs (just my idea as to why it was moving at a snails pace on Thursday.) Meetings went rather well too, well as far as meetings go. This week I have only two, back to back library committee and Hiz Day, but at least those are relatively productive.
Hiz Day seems to be coming along nicely. We have been organizing fund raisers so that we will be able to afford sound and a big name band, or at least a labeled band. The event is April 30, 2005 at SMC believing to start at noon. What is Hiz Day you ask. Well it is a music celebration of Christ and all that he has done for us--Bless this day that the Lord has made. If you are in the O'burg area that day stop by and enjoy the music.
Ah, yes my weekly scavenger hunt was on again this morning. That is what I call my weekly trips to Wally World for supplies. I say this because it never fails that I have to ask someone where something is--like tooth picks today, somehow I got lucky and found the one blue vest that actually knew where they were (the only lucky thing all day). Then I get to the soup isle, what is it with this isle that makes them think that it should be rearranged every three months. When I got there this elderly lady was telling the soup lady that they should stop mixing everything up because she can never find it and it seems like once she has learned where it is they move it. She replied with some comment about new products being eye-level and the lady spouted back, "that's not my eye leave!" Bless her, it really was cute, and she was telling the truth. They seem to rearrange that store all the time, just when you get the new configuration down they switch it on you, if they are still carrying it.
The last time it happened was when I was laid up from surgery, the hubby was doing all the grocery shopping, well on day he was gone a particularly long time considering the list was not that long. Come to find out they had moved every thing around and it took him twice as long to get half as much. I suppose they do it so that people wander more and then buy more. But really they shouldn't do that, people's time is very precious to them. Even if I do have time to wander through that store trying to find something is not how I would like to spend it. Maybe looking through the DVD's on sale or through all the CD's, or even the crafting area, but not for an item that was on row 8b last week that has now made it one section over and six rows up. And those signs at the end of the rows do not help at all, well at least on the rows where they have them, and why is only one end of the row marked, what if you are coming from the other side, lets be logical here. Yep scavenger hunts can be so entertaining at 9 am on Friday, at least I got my exercise.
How's that for a rant?
Well this bunny needs to go to her hole. Hope all is well, keep it real.

Cat in a box
Our cats have always loved boxes, to play in them and eat them (don't ask). But the little terror cat more than loves boxes, if one is in the house he is in it. It doesn't even matter the size. Last night he was in a soda 12 pack box. And when he is in the box you can do almost anything to him. Last night while in the box the hubby was flipping him around and he just took it. Now tonight he has been fighting for control of a large cooler box. The fight is not with his little sisters either, it is with the big one and she only out weighs him by about 15 pounds. He certainly is as courageous as he is curios. Usually she backs down from him but not tonight, nope she was like this is my box go play in the other one. Very interesting. Funny how you won't know he is even around and then out of a box he comes flying (maybe a bell on his collar would be a good idea--well except when he is chasing his tail at insanely early hours of the morning.)
Okay quick note, enough with the hurricanes already. One would think being in the midlands of South Cackalacki we would not need to worry as much about these types of storms, but we do. Last year we could actually hear the hurricane off the coast of Myrtle Beach, but this year there has been more. We felt some winds from Charlie and with Frances we got over 5 inches of rain and wind, luckily the tornados from each missed us. Now we are looking at Ivan, waiting and wondering what it is going to do. I am truly hoping that it misses us, but I am very worried about FLA, I have friends and acquaintances there.
Well that is all for now from this little bunny hole, hope all is well in your little hole.

Cleaning and late night calls
Howdy all, sorry its been a while I have been tired, playing with my music, and just plain busy with everything. Both my home and work offices are coming together, unfortunately between my cabinets at work and my closet at home are still in desperate need, and I really need to get those little projects in my office finished. Cleaning, not my favorite thing, never has been.
Not much has been up, meetings at work and animals at the house. On Sunday the terror cat woke me up by nibbling on my toes, better then the lawn mower but actually earlier, I just can't win.
I did finally get a call back from my big brother, I talk to his answering machine more than him. However, he was true to his form of calling at all hours. He called at midnight Sunday/Monday to ask me where I work. I really need to tell him to check the business card. I guess he had some patrons at his establishment in Nashville in town for the Carolina game and they got to talking and he needed to know where I work. He always thinks its Southern Baptist so he wanted to get it right. Like I said check the business card. He is such a nut, really need to schedule that trip to see him, but with everything going on I do not think it will be any time soon, maybe during hockey season and see a Predators game. (Good idea, always thinking.)

Another Day
Ah Saturday, a day to sleep in and relax. Not here, nope bright and early 730 am someone is mowing their lawn. I mean really people is that necessary, how rude. I could hardly believe it, I guess that is why some people say some people are alive simply because it is against the law to kill them. Maybe it should be against the law to mow before 9 am on a Saturday. Sheesh!!
Other than that the day went pretty well. We drove to Lexington to get a new front axel arm for the hubbies new toy. He needed a new part because he broke the other one by ramming the truck into a steel tiki torch pole at warp speed. Yep he broke it the first day he really had it to play with. Oh well, no big deal the piece wasn't to diffecult nor expensive to replace. After that we went to Best Buy to get some CDs, basically that is why I drove or went along for that matter. It was strange at the hobby shop, not many women most go there, because it got quiet and they all looked strangely at me when I walked in first. I felt like I was tresspassing, but oh well sorry to walk in on the testosterone parade. Back to Best Buy, I got three CDs and then we went to look at MP3 players--it was going to be just looking. However, I did end up getting a really nice one, it is 20 gigs with a remote, very cool. Haven't had much time to play with it but I am sure that it will help my "music 'whoring'" go to a whole new level. (For those of you who do not know me I lovingly refer to myself as a music whore because I love music--most kinds, and have all kinds of it, so please do not get offended it is all in fun). Yep, now I have the 40 gig slave drive full on the old desk top, many MBs on the laptop, many CD's original and personal mixes (I really love doing this) and another 20 gigs on the little player life is good.
As far as work goes I started yet another project. Cataloging and making accessible the rare books in the Methodist Collection, this is going to be a big one. Due to this I have decided that periodicals can wait to be bound, I am going to have some of these books rebound instead. I mean we have them but they are hiding in the open because no one knows that we have them, and if I have them bound then they can be used, even if it is only within the confines of the library. Isn't it better to have access then to have no access at all? So, besides binding I will need to get some other supplies because rare books are handled differently but in the end it should all be worth it. Other than that we are still redoing the collection, have to enter in the OSGGS sources into the catalog as well--what kind of librarian am I trying to make access easier for patrons, shame on me, painting, and meetings. I love meetings could have them all day everyday, NOT. I have one this coming week in particular that I am somewhat nervous about so say a prayer and think of me at 830 Wednesday morning, is that to early to be professional and adorable all at the same time?
Well there it is another day or so in a nut shell, hey look its me in a nut shell. Keep it real kids. Back to my bunny hole.

Why?
Why do people wait five minutes at a stop sign and then pull out in front of you when there is no traffic behind you? Thanks for the break and horn check but my heart didn't need all that excitement.
Why does fore said person then insist on going below the speed limit? I mean really they were in such a hurry to get in front of me, the accelerator is the long vertical peddle on the right.
Why do people give you the dirty look when you honk at them for their idiotic driving ability? Using the term ability loosely here.
Why do people with trucks, especially the Z71 Off Road, have spinner wheels? I have seen this.
Why do people spend all that money on 4 wheel drive vehicles when they know they will never use them for that purpose? i.e., the Escalade--I mean really people can we be practical here. Oh and someone please explain to me the reason for a low-rider pick up truck, because I am totally confused on that.
Ahh the joys of driving, there is one good thing about the stupid drivers: they allow for me to vent on the way home from work. The down side, in the morning it can really be a bummer, lucky for me Ace and TJ can keep me laughing. And if all else fails, good heavy rock and roll real loud can do the job!
There, glad I got out of the way.
This week has been another week of Mondays, or at least it seems like that. Work has been okay, some irritations but I have been trying to handle them calmly and professionally. Besides that it just seems like I never have enough time in my day to get all my work done. My to-do list gets things crossed off but it never seems to get shorter either. One day at a time, just have to keep reminding myself of that, otherwise I will go more insane then some think I already am.
On the brighter side, we now have wireless networking in the house. I am so excited about it, no more yelling at the terror cats to stop chewing on the cord. Not to mention I will be able to access my 40 gigs of music on the old desk top, woo-whoo, I could do a jig but I don't want to blow out the knee.
Well that's it for now from this little bunny hole. Keep it real.

Sports Overdose
Well the Olympics are finally over. Sixteen days of competition have come to a close and I have to say that I really did enjoy the games of the 28th Olympiad. I spent this weekend once again glued to the various channels enjoying soccer, volleyball, diving, and track and field. I salute the athletes of all 202 countries, in my book you all deserve a medal just for making it to the games.
Another sport I am very fond of is football. Preseason is underway and my Packers are 1 and 2, but they will be okay. I am a little upset with the NFL Network, they were suppose to show Friday nights game on Saturday night and then they showed another game. Make me mad because I did not listen to the game online Friday because I was just going to watch it. Oh well, I read about the highlights, if you can call them that, and feel okay about missing it. Now when regular season comes I will not shrug it off so easily, trust me.
Other wise the weekend was mostly uneventful. I went to the knee doctor on Friday hoping to be released from his care only to learn that I tweaked my knee cap that day I twisted my knee and have some things to do with that before he will let me go. Otherwise things went good, my ACL has reached MMI and my case manager is pleased with my progress. HURRAY! I guess now I know that any profession can be dangerous, I can say though that I really thought I would be safe as a librarian. At least I gave ACL something to remember me by.
Well that is it for this little bunny rant. Hope that all withstood Tropical Storm Gaston, pray that SMC and LCL are still standing.
Keep it real.

Are you sure its not Monday?
Yes my month of Mondays continues. Today just seemed like a day that was just stagnant. Faculty meeting was postponed, painted, had Hiz Day, painted, book orders, and then the man from the bindery showed up. The bindery man was a surprise and I was in no way prepared for him at all. None of the forms were filled out because the confused me. He showed me how to fill them out and was willing to wait for me to prepare all the journals for binding. However, this was not working for me because somehow all the journals got out of order and were basically being uncooperative. So, needless to say it will be another month before all that stuff gets done, oh well at least now I know how to fill out the form.
I think my secret pal doesn't like me. Oh well, maybe I am just to eclectic to get a handle on. But really, send me some licorice or white chocolate or peanut butter and I am good to go.
Not much else. I am still enjoying the Olympics, I do wish that they could start the cool stuff a little earlier in the evening, stupid central time. Didn't go swimming today, should probably do some exercises since I see the doctor Friday. Pray that I finally get released, stupid girth. For those of you scratching your head, I had my right ACL repaired in December and am still under the doctor's care. Just remember to be good to your knees because you will miss them when they are gone.
that's it for this Bunny Rant, hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

No quiet here
Thought I would give an update on the state of LCL.
We are still painting, would have loved to have had this done prior to the start of the semester but I am just glad to have the paint. The insanity green is almost gone, at least in the reference room which is getting its second coat of paint. We still have the ed room, hallway, me office, and then what ever else it will color. Would love to paint the bathrooms but not sure how far we can get the paint to go. The windows are getting fixed, hurray! Only a couple more to go. We have noticed over the last few days that quiet does not work well in a library going through renovation. With painting, hammering, and the wonderful trains there is no such thing. I may not help with that, show up on the right day at the right time and you could get the stand-up routine.
Other than that the library is shaping up really well. I ordered books today, so I am itching for that new book smell to show up on my door step. I also got to actually be a librarian today, like what I went to school for--reference. Sure did, answered some questions, gave some guidance, taught a little, and hopefully helped a lot. I even learned something about a search engine I like to use http://vivismo.com, you can search within the clusters, so totally cool. Anyway, I really like being able to help students, showing them how to find things and get the most out of the sources and resources we have available.
The new library website is also looking pretty cool, kudos to LN and the others. Now I just have to get her the journal/periodical information and we should be good to go. Probably need to add some more links on the internet resources page, guess I better find them. Any suggestions?
Well it is more painting and a faculty meeting tomorrow, wish me luck, at least lunch is with the Hiz Day crew. Until then. . .
